Whale
At 2:43, my heart breaks. The song reaches its height, but it doesn’t hurry there. The rhythm holds steady underneath, patient as breathing, and lets the weight arrive in its own time.
This is the second Duval Timothy track I’ve written about here, and my second post on Rhune. He has made some kind of peace with himself. I can hear it in the music, and I want it for my own.
Whale seems simple at first. Then it opens, slowly, into a story you know. Not one you’ve heard before, exactly. One you lived once, and set down somewhere, and forgot you were carrying.
