GazeSwipe: Enhancing Mobile Touchscreen Reachability through Seamless Gaze and Finger-Swipe Integration

Big phones: excellent for looking at things, less excellent when your thumb has to reach across the entire continent of glass. GazeSwipe uses a gaze cursor to point at the far-away spot, then lets your thumb tap within its comfortable reach to interact. I know this one-handed struggle personally.

I liked three HCI connections here: the calibration grid creates a direct mapping between gaze and the screen, repeated-measures testing checks whether reach and ease of use actually improve, and the cursor acts as a signifier that makes the invisible eye tracking visible. Much less guesswork; still a phone that wants two hands.
